We are delighted to announce that England Golf and the R&A have awarded Workington Golf Club ‘Women In Golf Charter’ status, after we submitted a detailed document to them explaining our intentions to help grow female golf participation at our own golf club.
We started this process with a small committee made up of the Lady Captain, lady members, the Professional, Golf club Manager and Adam McAllister R&A. Following on from the initial meeting we progressed successfully to obtaining the Golf Charter with full support from our Board of Directors
We now have a range of recruitment drives and initiatives in place to continue progress with and boost our female participation numbers still further, across all ages, over the next few years
